Break in the Routine

I am trying to do something different than going to a restaurant or a bar for our date night tomorrow but it seems that won’t really be possible given that it’s a work day and our date will be after 5 pm so we don’t want to hike too late and commute too late.

One of these days when I am working from home, I wish I could take the train a little far away to another town to sit and work in a cafe but unfortunately, the trains to go across towns in the US cost so much. Plus the coffee shops, main streets are not near the train stations at all so you’d have to pay for an expensive taxi. It seems that all signs are pointing to the fact that I should just go ahead and get my drivers’ license and start driving out to cafes that are a little further in. Or start going to cafes in New York and work from there.

Either way, it seems to be such a shame to spend these work from home days working actually from home. I will have to find a way to take advantage before this benefit goes away soon.

For now, I will have to think of a way to maximise the utility of our date night and get more out of it than just a dinner or a bar as we have done historically.
